Step 1: Check for a Google service outage

Before investigating your own setup, confirm Google's services are running normally:

  1. Go to google.com/appsstatus or the Google Workspace Status Dashboard
  2. Check if Gemini or related services are listed as having an incident
  3. Check @Google's social channels during significant outages for real-time updates

If there's an active Google service incident, your history will return once it's resolved. There's nothing to fix on your end.

Step 2: Hard refresh the page

The fastest fix for most intermittent history loading issues:

  • Windows/Linux: Ctrl + Shift + R
  • Mac: Cmd + Shift + R
