How to Use ChatGPT Without Saving History

Option 2: turn off model training (keep history, stop training)

If you want to keep your conversations for your own retrieval but not have them used to improve OpenAI's models:

1. Open Settings, then Data Controls.
2. Turn off Improve the model for everyone.

• Temporary Chat keeps a conversation out of your history and out of training. It does not guarantee no copy exists anywhere; providers can retain content briefly for safety and abuse-prevention.
